The Security Group
This role sits within the Security Group, a very diverse group of professionals lead by Chief Security Officer

Further to this, the Group runs a converged or 'all hazards' security model, bringing together cyber, physical, personnel security as well as security risk, assurance and privacy. This presents amazing and unique opportunities to explore recent roles or develop your skills and expertise across other security domains.
A bit about your role
The Manager, Security and Emergency Response Centre (SERC) is responsible for providing leadership, people & partner account management, as well as service delivery and is a key role within the Security Operations function. The role delivers services to key internal and external stakeholders. The Manager, reporting to
Peter Tari
, is responsible for providing thought leadership and embedding a culture which brings to life nbn's values of "We are one team", "We are fearless", "We care" and "We deliver".
As a senior member of the Security Operations team, the Manager, SERC is accountable for:
- Leading and Managing the delivery of security and other business services into nbn, Retail Service Providers (RSPs), Delivery Partners, Facilities contractors and sub-contractors, HSE contractors, Field Operations and liaison with other stakeholders.
- Managing the physical security monitoring of corporate offices, depots and network infrastructure.
- Other ancillary services which includes personnel wellbeing, site & asset security, fleet support, and some law enforcement agency liaison.
- Creating an environment where staff feel empowered, supported, and nurtured. This will be achieved by smart & innovative recruitment, competency-based training, clear communication of expectations, vendor support, and regular assurance activities.
- Leading and managing the contractual obligations of Security guarding vendors by establishing a healthy working partnership, where service level agreements are regularly exceeded and other "value add" services explored and where agreed, delivered.
- Ensuring physical security services are delivered and aligned to nbn's Strategic Plan, Policy and Standards, relevant legislation, and the Security Groups Strategic Plan as well as SERC's documented procedures.
- Ensuring the SERC is continuously meeting nbn Health & Safety, Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Commercial requirements.
- Developing and implementing effective performance measures and metrics to monitor nbn's physical security monitoring program and processes.
- Driving an approach of technical process automation where possible.
A bit about you
In addition to that, ideally you will have experience in crisis and/or emergency management. You should have expert knowledge of Microsoft products, formal security qualifications and an ability to obtain a National Security Clearance to NEgetive Vetting level 1.
You should note that occasionally the Manager, SERC will be required to work night shift and weekends to understand the operational dynamics, workload and challenges.
