Architecture & Interior Design CAD / Draftsperson Melbourne Permanent / Full Time

- Role is based in West Melbourne
- Great team who can support and guide you in your role
- Must have ArchiCAD experience

**Primary Purpose**:
The purpose of this role is to:

- produce all forms of compliant drawings relevant to Burbank Projects including sales kits, town planning documentation, site plans, working drawings and construction details. In addition, provide support to enable procurement of associated inputs such as engineering, energy ratings, town planning, & building permits.

**Key Result Area**
**Feasibilities**:

- Provide compliant design solutions & siting's incorporating input from all relevant stakeholders including Developer, Sales Agent, Designer, Planning Consultant, Energy Rater, Engineer, Purchasing Manager, Suppliers, OH&S; Manager, Building Manager, for new project opportunities.
- Drawings reflect the design brief and are compliant with relevant design & siting controls.
- Timeliness - drawings delivered within agreed time frame.

**Sales Support**:

- Produce drawings to enable sales agents to present solutions to clients/developers to close sales and to enable contracts to be produced.
- Accuracy - drawings completed in accordance with request, compliant with regulations and free of errors.
- Timeliness - drawings provided within agreed time frames.

**Workflow**:

- Contribute to weekly workflow planning, and ensure drawing tasks are completed as planned. Identify and implement solutions to any blockages threatening on-time delivery in conjunction with team leader.
- Tasks completed in accordance with planned dates.
- Feedback from admin, estimating and building teams.

**Reporting**:

- Ensure all task completions are recorded on the workflow tracking system immediately as they occur.
- Official reporting system maintained up to date at all times with no reliance on off-line reports.

**Quality Control**:

- Contribute to the development, documentation and implementation of quality control processes to ensure the accuracy of completed drawings
- Errors reported by sales, administration and building teams.
- Adhesion to established quality control processes.

**Compliance**:

- Ensure all drawings produced comply with relevant regulatory controls - building code, developer guidelines, town planning permit conditions, covenants, restrictions on title etc. and that they are consistent with the design brief and/or sales documentation.
- Feedback from building department.
- Feedback from sales team.

**ETS Reduction**:

- Respond to feedback from building department regarding causes of drafting related margin erosion. Take action to ensure any reported errors are corrected and not repeated.
- % of margin erosion each month attributable to drawings completed.
- Feedback from building department.

**Product Release**:

- Produce sales kits (siting's & sketches) for release to 'Stock Exchange' system or other stakeholders as required.
- Packages completed within agreed time frames.
- Drawings reflect agreed product inclusions.

**Key Supplier Relationships**:

- Liaise with key consultant suppliers (e.g. engineer, surveyor, thermal assessor) regarding required work, monitor performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and report performance. Escalate any shortfall.
- Inputs from suppliers provided in accordance with production plan and service level agreements.
- Service shortfalls reported and causes identified.

**Construction Support**:

- Receive feedback from building team regarding queries on drawings and resolve to enable construction to continue without delay.
- Building department feedback on speed and suitability of resolution.
- Process any building variations that arise to ensure documentation reflects project as built, including variations to contract inclusions and permit amendments.
- As built documentation is maintained during construction process.

**Team Development**:

- Contribute to and participate in department training programs including the implementation of ArchiCAD software.
- Feedback from Projects team.
- Smooth implementation of ArchiCAD.

**Typical Qualifications & Experience**
- Ÿ At least 5 years' experience of domestic medium density construction drafting, AUTOCAD, ARCHICAD, BCA & planning.
- Ÿ Proven knowledge of domestic construction methods.
- Ÿ Able to build and maintain robust relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ÿ Able to understand and interpret technical aspects of design and construction.
- Ÿ Tertiary qualified in a building or engineering field
