Where you\'ll be working
Maitland Hospital is a major regional health facility delivering specialised care across a broad range of clinical services including emergency care, paediatrics, maternity, mental health, oncology, intensive care, general medicine, orthopaedic surgery, and general surgery. The hospital is expanding its services with the soon-to-be-launched Elective Joint Centre, providing opportunities to work with cutting-edge practices in orthopaedic care.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through safe, effective, and evidence-based medication management. This pivotal role will see you working closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimise medication use across all stages of hospitalisation—from patient admission through to discharge—ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
About you
- Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience, ideally within a hospital setting.
- Strong commitment to patient-centred care and medication safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, quick-paced environment.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and service delivery.
- Enthusiasm for continuous professional development and contribution to quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proof of eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Pharmacy. Must be able to demonstrate fulfilment of the criteria for grade 2 pharmacist in accordance with the Health Employees\' Pharmacists (State) Award.
