About the Role:
Central West NSW seeks highly skilled professionals in accounting practice to become Directors on our Board. We are looking for individuals who can guide strategic direction, ensure effective governance, and provide oversight to the leadership team.
Our ideal candidate will possess strong skills and experience in financial management, compliance, and stewardship of organisational resources. They will be able to make informed strategic decisions, safeguard assets, and maintain trust with stakeholders and the broader community.
The Director will lead with passion and purpose, guiding strategic direction and ensuring we stay true to our mission. They will support and mentor our leadership team, providing wisdom and insight needed to navigate challenges and seize opportunities.
This role requires a strong understanding of governance and fiduciary responsibilities. Our ideal candidate will have business acumen, with exposure to compliance, governance, and risk management.
As an ambassador for the organisation, the Director will participate in relevant events and activities, making a positive impact in the community.
Responsibilities:
Attend quarterly Board Meetings held in Bathurst, NSW.
Participate in committee work, as required.
Lead with passion and purpose, guiding strategic direction and ensuring we stay true to our mission.
Support and mentor our leadership team, providing the wisdom and insight needed to navigate challenges and seize opportunities.
Ensure legal compliance and achieve relevant governance requirements.
Act as an ambassador for the organisation in the community and participate in relevant events and activities.
Requirements:
Strategic vision
Strong leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
AICD or equivalent qualification (or willing to obtain)
Robust understanding of governance and fiduciary responsibilities
Business acumen, with exposure to compliance, governance, and risk management
Experience in a not-for-profit environment (desirable)
