SafeWork NSW has just transformed to become a modern, strong, and independent Work Health and Safety Regulator. As part of this change, we have opportunities within our Psychosocial Return to Work and Regulatory Engagement Directorate team.
About the role:
As a Triage Advisor, you'll be the first point of contact for Work Health and Safety notifications and requests for service. You will be the first point of contact for psychologically injured workers or those close to them (e.g., managers, colleagues, family) seeking advice or lodging WHS notifications related to psychosocial harm.
You will triage, assess, de‑escalate, and prioritise matters against SafeWork NSW's triage and psychosocial risk frameworks; provide evidence‑based guidance; and escalate urgent risk to emergency services and specialist mental health supports.
You will:
* Triage and assess incoming work health and safety (WHS) matters and provide expert advice and support in the application of SafeWork NSW's triage framework, as well as referring to support services where appropriate.
* Contribute to the expansion and delivery of support and advice for matters related to psychological risk and harm. Use trauma informed, person centred communication and de escalation techniques.
* Deliver consistent, high-quality triage, assessment and verification activities by supporting frontline staff, promoting compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures, and ensuring timely and fair resolution of regulatory matters.
* Provide high level administrative and governance support for key operational functions of SafeWork NSW ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and contributing to enhanced regulatory intelligence and operational effectiveness.
