As the Regional Executive Director for the Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet, you will play a pivotal role in the Barkly region, working across and beyond the Northern Territory Public Sector.
The role involves leading, partnering and coordinating with government agencies, community organisations, Traditional Owners and industry to deliver on government and regional priorities.
You will lead and coordinate economic growth strategies and oversee local emergency recovery activities.
The Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet's purpose is to deliver coordinated policy and priority reform, regional leadership, and high-quality support to Executive Government.
This position reports to the Senior Executive Director, Southern.
Base pay range A$247,170.00/yr - A$247,170.00/yr Executive Contract Officer 2 - Remuneration Package $247,170 Territory Regional Coordination An Executive contract of up to 4 years may be offered.
Key duties and responsibilities Drive the coordination and implementation of the Northern Territory Government's priorities in the Barkly region, with a focus on rebuilding the economy, reducing crime and restoring the Territory Lifestyle.
Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships and strategic alliances with other government agencies, Commonwealth agencies, local government, land councils, local businesses and community stakeholders.
Work with the Senior Executive Director, Southern to provide advice from a whole of government perspective to the Chief Executive Officer of the Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet and other agencies' Chief Executive Officers on strategic issues and service delivery within the Central Australia and Barkly regions.
Lead the development of innovative service delivery and policy implementation solutions to foster regional economic growth and economic participation and improve outcomes for Territorians.
Represent the interests of the Northern Territory Government at relevant regional and national forums.
Work with the Chief Minister and Cabinet Emergency Recovery Unit to direct, lead and coordinate with relevant agencies in regional emergency recovery for the local region.
Barkly – Tennant Creek Located between Alice Springs and Katherine, Tennant Creek is the heart of the Barkly region and is synonymous with the cattle industry.
It is also the centre of a resurgent mining industry.
The Traditional Owners of the area surrounding Tennant Creek are the Warumungu people, and their culture is very much alive and well.
Tennant Creek is home to over 3,000 people and has a real outback town flavour centred around one main street lined with trees and filled with locally owned stores.
