About the Role:
The Carer Support Caseworker will be responsible for providing support and supervision to the carers of children placed in BACS’s out of home care program (OOHC) to achieve quality outcomes.
The key objectives of the role include:
- Placement matching and support and ensure case plan goals are in accordance with permanency guidelines.
- Monitor placements in the carers’ home including home visits and all related support
- Ensure compliance will all application legislation and regulation including the Carer Protection Act and OCG Standards.
- Advocate for each child’s rights as per the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child
- Maintain appropriate records and compliance with the service management system and BACS Records Management Policy and Procedures..
- Provide on-call availability to carers, children in care and support agencies via mobile phone.
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent
- Ability to work flexibly across Monday - Sunday.
- Experience working in Out of Home Care or the Child Protection sector
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong casework skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage & work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective time management and personal organisational skills
- Ability to work independently, as a team member
- High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Current NSW driver’s licence
- Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including the National Police Check and Working with Children clearances in accordance with BACS policies and procedures.
