Project Manager - Utilities and Resources

The Role
Based in the Brisbane office, you will initially manage projects across Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales, with the opportunity to take on projects nationwide as the division grows. You will be responsible for leading turnkey projects that include both design and construction for industrial electrical and instrumentation installations. As a leader, you will collaborate closely with our estimating, engineering, and system integration teams to ensure projects are set up for success and delivered flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all project functions, ensuring compliance with quality control and safety standards.
- Manage project financials, including budget, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Proactively resolve construction issues to keep the project on schedule.
- Manage change orders and variations to ensure accurate scope and budget control.
- Build strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.
- Work with principal contractors and end customers to meet all project objectives.
- Collaborate with vendors, sub-consultants, and other business units within the group to provide cost-effective project delivery.
- Mentor junior Project Managers and Project Engineers to build a strong, consistent, and effective project delivery team.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have at least 8 years of experience as a Project Manager, with a strong background in delivering industrial projects up to $10M in contract value. You must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced workplace.
- Proven experience in industrial projects, particularly within the electrical contractor space.
- A track record of successfully completing projects from start to finish.
- Strong leadership, communication, and management skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical and utility codes, standards, and regulations.
- High-level computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, and business accounting software.
- An interest in building team capability and improving project delivery efficiency.
- A tertiary qualification in Project Management (e.g., PMBOK) is highly regarded.
