The Australian Academy of Science aims to provide advice and support for teachers of mathematics and science through evidence-based education programs grounded in research. The next phase of the successful Primary Connections, Science Connections, and reSolve programs will be achieved through leveraging their strengths and consolidating offerings.
As a Senior Education Officer – Maths, you will make a key contribution to developing and producing quality teaching and learning resources with a focus on improving mathematics education in Australian schools.
The opportunity is available as a fixed-term contract until 2026. Applications for remote working arrangements will be considered. Working rights in Australia are required.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop high-quality teaching resources that illustrate and exemplify Australian Academy of Science Education's values and design principles using cycles of design, testing, and review.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts, users, and colleagues to inform, develop, review, and test resources.
* Contribute to process and activities related to teacher/user networks for developing and testing resources and tools.
* Participate in initiatives to refine pedagogical practices, strengthen integration of First Nations Australians' perspectives and knowledges, and explore transdisciplinary STEM approaches.
* Perform other duties as requested.
