This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Youth Justice Worker, where you will have the chance to work with vulnerable youth and help them build strong connections to culture, community, and positive pathways.
About the Role
You will provide direct support to Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander young people, helping them to reconnect with family, culture and community, and build positive futures.
Working closely with Youth Justice case managers, you will provide culturally safe support to Aboriginal young people and their families.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Complete Aboriginal Cultural Support Plans with young people involved in Youth Justice.
* Collaborate with schools, Victoria Police, and other partners to design and deliver programs that support early intervention and diversion.
* Strengthen relationships between Youth Justice services and the local Aboriginal community.
* Prepare reports for management and other stakeholders as required.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working with Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander young people. You should have a strong connection to and understanding of the local Aboriginal community, including cultural values.
A minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work (or currently working towards completion) is mandatory, as well as previous experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community members.

Mandatory Qualifications
* A minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work (or currently working towards completion).
* Previous experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community members (preferred).
