The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria's largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
The Department of General Medicine is offering several Advanced Training positions to those seeking to complete training requirements or seeking to undertake further training in General and Acute Care Medicine.
Applications for first year trainees will take place via a separate application through Melbourne Health Careers with Job Reference Number TBA
Reporting to the Head of Service in a structured training program, you will have the opportunity to rotate through subspecialty areas such as General Medicine, Intensive Care, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Geriatrics, Respiratory, Haematology, Palliative Care, Endocrinology, Rheumatology and other health services such as the Royal Women's Hospital, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Albury Wodonga Health, Epworth Richmond and Ballarat Base Hospital.
Each 12-month appointment includes a 4-week rotation through nights as the Medical Officer in Charge.
About you:
* Must hold General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for Provisional Registration (via Competent Authority Pathway)
* Completed Basic Physician Training (or completing in 2025)
* Strong supervision & leadership skills
* Extensive experience in providing professional supervisor and mentoring to junior medical staff
