Job Description
About the role
As the Mega and Strategic Events Marketing Specialist, you will lead innovative marketing campaigns for major events, helping to position Queensland as a top global destination. You'll develop and deliver integrated strategies across digital and contemporary platforms, creating engaging content for diverse audiences. This role involves collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and ensuring all communications are inclusive, impactful, and aligned with government priorities and TEQ's vision and Destination 2045 outcomes. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marking strategies for lar-scale events, creativity, adaptability, and a pro-active approach to problem solving are highly valued.
* Develop and deliver innovative marketing and content strategies to position Queensland as a premier destination for global events.
* Lead Queensland Government marketing initiatives for major events, including the Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 and AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026, ensuring alignment with government priorities.
* Create and implement integrated campaigns across digital and contemporary platforms to maximize audience engagement and showcase Queensland's unique offerings.
* Produce high-quality written, visual, and digital content for channels such as social media, websites, and promotional campaigns.
* Provide expert marketing advice to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all materials are strategically relevant and aligned with team objectives.
* Deliver impactful campaigns on time, demonstrating creativity, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, while supporting Queensland's reputation as a global events destination.

For this role, we will consider your:
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, fostering inclusive marketing and communications.
* Broad knowledge of national and global events, with a strong understanding of marketing and communication trends, digital strategies, and audience engagement techniques relevant to large-scale events.
* Proven experience developing, promoting, and executing integrated marketing and communication campaigns for major events, ensuring alignment with event objectives, stakeholder expectations, and government priorities.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret data, evaluate campaign performance, and provide actionable insights, combined with high‑level written and verbal communication skills to craft compelling messages and build effective relationships.
* Ability to engage and collaborate with senior stakeholders across government, industry, and external organizations, as well as coordinate and support marketing teams to deliver high‑quality content and campaigns in fast‑paced environments.
* Demonstrated resilience, creativity, and ethical standards, with the ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain confidentiality and integrity in all marketing and communication activities.
