Responsibilities
Prepare orders to customers' requirements
Present dishes of the highest quality in a timely fashion
Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
Contribute to menu development
Contribute to the overall development and improvement of the café
Mentor and train others in a supporting role
Order produce and maintain stock levels
Ability to work quickly, independently and part of a team
Sound knowledge of kitchen procedures and operations
Be able to communicate in a positive and affirming manner

Be prepared to be rostered on any day of the week or weekend
Location
Café Nourish produces almost all our food onsite, in our compact and functional kitchen. You will be part of a team serving up to 100 meals a day in peak periods. We take pride in our produce and our staff and enjoy a great working atmosphere.
We are seeking to backfill a leave position with a view to ongoing employment. We are looking for a chef and/or breakfast cook. You would be working alone or leading a team of two in the kitchen on weekends or holiday periods, but part of a much larger team servicing our customers. You will have input in to the menu and baking products. We try to build flexibility in to our work schedule and happy to negotiate terms and conditions to the person with the right skills and experience.
You will need to be passionate, skillful, take direction well, but be able to work independently in the owner's absence. You will need to be an early morning person, punctual and reliable. You will need to be comfortable cooking bacon and eggs, but equally enjoy curries, salads, noodle dishes and yes, smashed avocado.
The biggest issue you will face is accommodation. Options exist including temporary and backpacker until you connect with others for a more permanent solution. It is possible to commute from Townsville but you will need to be highly organized.
