Retail Pharmacy Operations Manager
We are seeking a Retail Pharmacy Operations Manager to oversee daily pharmacy operations, manage staff, ensure compliance with state and federal laws, and drive profitability.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will lead the retail and specialty pharmacy divisions, supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and analyze financial reports to drive profitability.
This key leadership role requires expertise in pharmacy operations, business acumen, and a passion for driving exceptional service. The successful candidate will work closely with the Pharmacist-in-Charge and report to executive leadership.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead daily operations of retail and specialty pharmacy divisions
* Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff (hiring, training, coaching, and performance management)
* Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with company values and goals
* Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy laws, regulations, and licensing requirements
* Analyze financial reports to drive profitability and identify opportunities for cost savings
* Collaborate with the billing team to reduce write-offs and improve accuracy
* Optimize workflow and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
* Maintain readiness for audits and inspections while ensuring excellent patient and customer service
* Foster relationships with referral sources and external partners to drive business growth
Requirements:
* Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or higher required
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
* Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
* Prior pharmacy operations experience strongly preferred
* Skills & Competencies:
* Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
* In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, systems, and regulations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
* Strong analytical skills to read and interpret pharmacy system reports and financial statements
* Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset
* Ability to implement continuous improvement in operational processes
