Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world‑class clinical facilities, services, and care.
Nepean Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is a pivotal clinical leadership role focused on providing expert care, education, and support to patients with stomas, and related wounds, as well as their families and carers. As a CNS in Stoma Therapy, you will lead by example in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based Nursing care and act as a Clinical Resource for Nursing and Medical staff across the hospital. You will work collaboratively with Surgical, Gastroenterology, and Wound care teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients requiring care. The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 - Stoma Therapy is responsible for the pre‑operative assessment and post‑operative management of patients undergoing bowel surgery and formation of stoma.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) is a Registered Nurse who applies a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex nursing care directed towards a specific area of practice, a defined population or defined service area, with minimum direct supervision. You will be a highly motivated and clinically proficient nurse who demonstrates advanced knowledge and leadership in stomal therapy. You are passionate about patient education, continuity of care, and empowering patients to achieve independence and confidence in self‑care.
