Busy state government department seeking Asset Manager to map existing strategies and establish new ones.

Hays have partnered with a busy state government department to appoint an ICT Asset Manager to an initial 6-month contract. Working within the Corporate Services division, and with a strong chance of this assignment extending, this is a fantastic opportunity you don't want to miss out on!
**Your new role**
As the ICT Asset Manager, you will be responsible for leading and establishing the as-is for the department's current state of asset management, and helping shape the 'to-be' for where the department wants to end up. Your day-to-day duties will vary, but some of your core responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating current device/phone asset management practices, and identifying strengths/weaknesses
- Proposing improvements and enhancements, considering technology trends
- Prioritising excellent service delivery
- Building relationships with other government agencies, and writing an end report with recommendations
**What you'll need to succeed**
You will be an experienced Asset Management professional, with prior experience of managing assets and a strong grasp of BA capabilities to map current processes and develop methods for improvement. You'll possess basic project management capability, as well as have outstanding communication and stakeholder negotiation skills that complement your proficiency in writing policy/documents/instructions. Previous government experience is desirable, but not essential.
