The Opportunity
ERS are building a pool of highly capable professionals who thrive in complex, remote, and high-stakes environments. We are currently looking for committed and motivated Maritime Security Officers across the Pilbara region, in both Port Hedland and Dampier.
**Please note; these are residential roles and FIFO is not available**
As an ERS Security Officer, you will possess a strong understanding of security standards, regulations and laws. We also need you to be aware of the sensitivity to cultural differences and demonstrate teamwork when working with our clients, stakeholders, visitors and staff.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Site access/egress control at assigned locations
* Security access identification card management/ processing
* Key management and control
* Security Gatehouse duties and CCTV monitoring, review and reporting of abnormal events
* Initiate first response following receipt of emergency calls
* Conduct emergency communications, notifications and maintain accurate records
* Incident reporting and logging
* Process site inductions for visitors, workers, suppliers, service providers etc
* Provide traffic management at security gatehouses and other locations as directed by the principal
* Vehicle compliance checks in accordance with the site procedures
* General housekeeping, maintenance of equipment and facilities
* Other duties as directed
About You
* Knowledge of International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) (Desirable)
* Previous experience in a security officer role working in ports, mine sites or similar environments
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* High sense of responsibility and initiative
* Ability to work independently
Qualifications
* Certificate II in Security Operations (essential).
* WA Security Officer License and Card (essential).
* Valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (desirable).
* HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid – needs to be current within 3 years
* HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – needs to be current within 12 months
* Current National Police Clearance (not more than 6 months old).
* Valid Australian unrestricted Driver's License (essential)
* HLTPAT005 - Authorised Drug and Alcohol Screening Officer accreditation (desirable).
* Load Restraint Awareness for Road Transport certification (desirable).
