We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Project Manager to lead our North Rockhampton Waste Water Treatment Plant team. This project involves the upgrade of Rockhampton’s wastewater infrastructure, including D&C upgrades & remediation of existing aging infrastructure as well as D&C and commissioning of new infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced water / wastewater Senior Project Manager who has delivered brownfield Waste Water Treatment Plants from $20m-$100m. The ideal candidate would also would also have commissioning and cut-over experience. The role will be based in Rockhampton, Queensland.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager – Construction / Managing Director and will be responsible for successfully managing the project through construction and commissioning including management of budgets, contracts, client interface and leading the site-based team.
Key accountabilities will be to:
•Ensure the project is successfully completed within budget, on time and in accordance with contract requirements
•Initiate and develop an effective working relationship with the client, stakeholders and project team
•Ensure that claims, variations, EOI’s, RFI’s, subcontracts and other contractual matters are properly managed
•Manage procurement of consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers including FRP sub-contractors, electrical and mechanical sub-contractors/suppliers
•Contract administration, including assessment of progress claims, variations, EOT’s and RFI’s
•Prepare monthly cost and project reports for the General Manager - Construction
•Foster a cohesive, positive, collaborative culture within the project team
•Oversee and guide the project team
•Meet the specific requirements of the company’s WHS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems
•Manage the preparation and implementation of project specific plans (WHS, Quality and Environmental); ITP’s and Safe Work Method Statements
•Maintain records as necessary to ensure contractual compliance and efficient project management
•Liaise with subcontractors, site managers and project engineers to ensure coordination of works and smooth program implementation
About you
You are an accomplished Senior Project Manager with experience in the Water / Waste Water sector and will be able to demonstrate:
•Exemplary leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead a site-based team
•Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
•5 plus years experience as a Senior Project Manager
•Demonstrated ability to implement Environmental Controls
•Demonstrated ability to implement WHS and Quality Systems
•Experience managing sub-contractors and delivering projects
•Strong team focus, consultation and communication skills
•Understanding of WHS legislation compliance and management systems
•Knowledge of quality management systems ISO 9001 and experience managing quality assurance
•Electronic data management and other relevant computer skills
