We have a fixed term opportunity for an Aboriginal Communications Specialist to join our close-knit team in Leederville with a salary of $135,693 plus 12% Super.
As an Aboriginal Communications Specialist, you will deliver internal and external communications and provide strategic advice and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communications. You will support a number of Water Corporation's programs and initiatives, including the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Yesterday Today, and Tomorrow (YTT) strategy.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies and tactical plans to engage employees, support key projects and initiatives and deliver successful program and project outcomes
* Provide strategic guidance and specialised advice on internal channels, campaigns, events, and other relevant communication materials
* Develop content in consultation with internal stakeholders and teams, including Aboriginal Strategy and Reconciliation, Aboriginal Employment and Development, Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title and Aboriginal Contractor Engagement
* Work closely with the broader Corporate Affairs team and other subject matter experts across the business, to ensure communications are coordinated, aligned and consistent
* Establish communication measures of success and report on the communication activities
* Develop and implement Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communications frameworks, as required, including guidelines, presentations and supporting documents
Requirements
* Degree qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Media Management or a related discipline
* Considerable experience in Aboriginal employee engagement, stakeholder and issues management
* Considerable experience in drafting strategic communication and engagement plans, including tactical communication plans and key messages
* Substantial experience in delivering communication programs and providing advice and support at a corporate level in a large service-based organisation
* Substantial experience in developing proactive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of past policies and legislations impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people
