About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rugby League Elite Pathways and Development Coach to join the Northern Pride RLFC' team in Cairns, Queensland. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing the development and progression of our elite junior players, ensuring they are prepared to take the next step in their rugby league careers.
What you'll be doing
* Managing the player development program (Rise) and Elite Pathways SWC U17 - U19 tailored to the needs of our elite junior players
* Coaching and mentoring junior players, providing technical and tactical instruction to help them reach their full potential
* Identifying and nurturing talented players, guiding them through the pathway to the senior team
* Collaborating with the broader coaching and performance staff to ensure a cohesive, club-wide approach to player development
* Monitoring player progress and adaptation, making adjustments to training and development plans as needed
* Providing detailed feedback and guidance to players and coaches, helping them set and achieve their individual goals
* Promoting a positive, professional, and high-performance culture within the junior elite program
What we're looking for
* Extensive experience as a coach in a high-performance rugby league environment, with a track record of developing elite junior players and coaches
* Thorough understanding of player development pathways and the ability to design and implement effective training and development programs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes
* Excellent technical and tactical knowledge of the game of rugby league
* A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
* Relevant coaching qualifications and certifications
