Placements are due to commence in September 2026 and will be between 18 - 24 months in duration.
Immediate opportunities are available for capable leaders to support and mentor ASC employees participating in this globally recognised training.
Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day activities and workflow within an assigned submarine section/zone
* Supervise personnel, coordinating tasks, and ensuring staff are equipped and trained for their roles
* Plan and monitor project activities within the zone to optimise efficiency, productivity, and delivery outcomes
* Manage staff performance and capability within the zone, including coaching, development, and adherence to procedural and governance requirements
* Ensure projects within the zone are completed on time and within budget
* Manage budgets and allocating resources effectively for the zone
* Ensure that work adheres to all industry regulations and nuclear safety standards
* Identify and resolve issues that arise within the zone
Eligibility Criteria
* Engineering qualification, either a recognised trade qualification or an engineering degree in a relevant technical discipline (Mechanical, Fabrication, or Electrical)
* Extensive experience in defence or heavy industry environments, with demonstrated capability in production management or leadership roles
* Experience with trade and technical processes associated with the maintenance and overhaul of complex naval vessels (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of operational safety standards and compliance requirements
* Proven experience managing budgets and supporting cost control within production or operational environments
* An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines.
Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
