Engineering Career Opportunity
Thales is a global technology leader seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and supporting complex technical equipment and systems.
The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of engineers, technicians, production staff, and management involved in the In-Service Support (ISS) of Collins class submarine and other projects. Key responsibilities include:
* Performing engineering-related tasks to maintain and support the Scylla sonars and associated equipment and systems.
* Designing new components for equipment and systems or test fixtures.
* Undertaking Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on location or on components returned from site.
* Creating, reviewing, and maintaining design and manufacturing documentation.
* Documenting all engineering support and investigation work to a high standard.
* Ensuring the quality and configuration control of produced design, manufacturing, and test data.
* Participating in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and production readiness reviews.
* Developing and maintaining clear plans for assigned work packages.
Key Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
* A recognized degree in Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering.
* A working knowledge of drafting practice and relevant Australian standards.
* A working knowledge of Inventor CAD or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years' experience working 'hands on' as part of a team to manufacture and/or support high-quality technical equipment or systems.
* A flexible attitude and willingness to develop new skills and work as part of a team.
