POSITION

SKILLS
The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF Cert II or above and 12 months of relevant employment experience. If no relevant qualification, at least two years of relevant employment experience is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Barista, your role is essential in delivering an outstanding coffee experience to our customers. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from expertly crafting coffee beverages to providing exceptional customer service. You will welcome customers, take orders efficiently, operate the coffee equipment and prepare a diverse range of drinks flawlessly. Your dedication to maintaining cleanliness, adhering to safety protocols, and continuously improving your skills by staying updated on the latest industry trends will contribute to the overall success of our business.
TASKS
* Operating coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment to prepare a variety of coffee drinks.
* Brewing and preparing coffee and espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos etc. to perfection, ensuring quality and consistency.
* Preparing, serving and selling a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as cocktails, soft drinks and other mixed drinks.
* Handling cash and processing payment transactions using the point-of-sale system.
* Cleaning and maintaining equipment, including regular backflushing of espresso machines, cleaning steam wands, and regularly descaling equipment.
* Keeping the workspace clean and organised, including wiping down counters, tables, and equipment, and sweeping or mopping floors as needed.
* Stocking and replenishing supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, and other necessary items.
* Communicating effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
* Providing excellent customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
* Adhering to health and safety regulations and always maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
* Continuously learning about coffee, including different brewing methods, origins, and flavour profiles, to enhance knowledge and provide better service to customers.
* Monitoring the quality and freshness of ingredients, including coffee beans, milk, and syrups, and rotating stock to minimise waste.
* Upselling and promoting specialty items, seasonal drinks, and loyalty programs to increase sales and customer engagement.
* Collaborating with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and teamwork, especially during peak hours.
* Adapting to changing circumstances and multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* Able to work as part of a team and independently when required.
* Knowledge of various coffee types, origins, brewing methods, and flavour profiles is crucial for preparing high-quality beverages.

SALARY
Annual salary of $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
