Our client is a leading Private Sector manufacturer; headquartered in Canberra with long ties to the Commonwealth. You will be part of something very special and work at the pointy end of technology.
They are seeking an experienced Travel Coordinator to manage the transition of existing travel services to a new internal travel management model.
- Please note: Due to the nature of the industry our client operates in, all applicants must Australian Citizens and have a minimum Baseline Security Clearance, whilst previous Defence Industry or Government experience will be highly regraded._
**Key role responsibilities**:
- Investigate, provide advice on and action changes to the management of travel services and assist in the development of a new travel management model.
- Oversee the provision of services for all business travel to meet company requirements; including revision of travel polices and documentation.
- Supervise the Travel Officer, as required; Mentor and/or train others for backup duties.
- Developing and maintaining supplier relationships, including travel to review facilities and service providers.
- Manage all travel related insurance claims.
- Prioritise workload to ensure that urgent requests are dealt with in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
- Evaluation of and reporting on travel services and demands for management review.
- Provide out of hours travel assistance/ support response as required.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum Baseline Security Clearance.
- Qualifications and experience in travel/hospitality (ideally with travel agency experience).
- Demonstrated strong communication skills (high level of English grammar skills).
- Sound knowledge of domestic and international travel trends.
- Demonstrated proactive customer service delivery /response to a wide range of recipients.
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; good attention to detail.
- Ability to cope with change in a positive manner; Project management experience an advantage.
- Flexible work hours including on-call response as required.
- Capacity to travel interstate/intrastate as required
