About the role
As a Social Worker at the Maitland Mental Health Unit, you\'ll play a vital role within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, bringing the psychosocial perspective to care. Your work will focus on addressing psychosocial stressors, championing family and cultural inclusion, and contributing specialist input around family and domestic violence and child protection. You\'ll also support individuals at risk of homelessness and help people stay connected to their communities by linking them with the right networks and resources.
This is a chance to use your skills to make a meaningful difference in people\'s lives while working in a team that values collaboration, compassion, and holistic care.
You\'ll be joining a small, supportive team of two Social Workers within the Unit, with the added benefit of direct professional support from a Senior Social Worker based in the community team. This is a role where you\'ll feel supported, connected, and encouraged to continue building your skills and career.

You will have a strong understanding of how mental health impacts an individual\'s life experience and be confident working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders. To thrive in this role, you\'ll need to be flexible, organised, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to balance competing demands effectively.
