SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a qualified and experienced Horticultural Worker on behalf of our client who are focused on providing high-quality Citrus Fruits whilst maintaining sustainable farming practices, based in Ramco Heights, South Australia.
**Position** - Horticultural Worker
**Location** - Ramco Heights, South Australia.
**Salary** - $77,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum (based on experience)
**Employment Type** - Full-time, Permanent
**THE ROLE**:
We are looking for a reliable and qualified Horticultural Worker with a commitment to providing high-quality crop care, maintain safe work practices, and supporting efficient farm operations. The role is full-time and ongoing.
**KEY RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE**:
- P**lant, cultivate, cutting & pruning of plants / trees and harvest crops** following seasonal and crop care schedules.
- Operate **and maintain irrigation systems** to ensure optimal crop hydration.
- Prepare and amend soil by testing PH levels adding organic matter and adjusting nutrient levels.
- Regularly inspect crops for signs of pests and diseases and take immediate corrective actions including manual removal and biological controls
- S**ort, pack, and load produce** ready for market distribution, maintaining strict quality control.
- Operate **and maintain basic farm machinery and tools** to support daily horticultural operations.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on all relevant horticultural equipment and machinery
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:
- Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) work experience in horticultural operations.
- Basic Horticulture/ Agriculture qualification preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting heavy loads and working on ladders, in accordance to WHS regulations.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including early morning starts in frost conditions.
- Expertise in plant identification, growth patterns, and biology within a commercial context (will be preferred).
- Physically fit and highly motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand and walk on feet for long periods of time.
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Excellent hand/eye coordination.
- A reliable, safety-conscious, and hard-working attitude.
- Basic knowledge of farm tools, machinery, and crop care.
- **You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.**
