Where You'll Be Working
Allied Health Services at Belmont Hospital are a skilled and collaborative team who support patient care through a range of outpatient clinics and work closely with inpatient and clinical teams to assist with day-to-day service delivery.
This Administration Officer Level 2 role is based at Allied Health Reception on the Ground Floor of Belmont Hospital. The position supports Allied Health outpatient services and involves regular interaction with patients, carers, clinicians, and administrative colleagues.
On-site staff parking is available, with additional street parking in surrounding areas.
About The Role
This temporary part-time Administration Officer Level 2 position (0.42 FTE/16 hours) provides patient-facing administrative support to Belmont Allied Health outpatient services on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00am to 4:30pm for an initial period of six months. There may be an opportunity for extension and/or additional days based on service needs.
Duties include welcoming patients and carers, scheduling and booking appointments, managing patient arrivals, and responding to telephone and in-person enquiries in line with established procedures, while managing competing priorities in a busy outpatient environment. The role also receives and appropriately redirects enquiries relating to inpatient Allied Health services.
The position operates within a job-share arrangement and works as part of an administrative and clinical team to support smooth clinic operations. Clear communication and effective handover between job-share partners are required to ensure continuity of administrative support.
The role requires the ability to readily adjust work priorities in response to service needs and evolving service structures, with guidance and support from senior staff. Occasional assistance with Allied Health administrative support at John Hunter Hospital may be required.
About You
The successful candidate will be committed to providing a high level of customer service for a broad range of patients. They will also be competent to utilise a wide range of computer and electronic systems to complete work activities in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously but also enjoy working collaboratively and effectively with a range of health care professionals.
How You'll Be Supported
The successful candidate will be supported by the Allied Health leadership team, including the Director of Allied Health, Physiotherapy Service Manager, Deputy Service Manager, and the Physiotherapy Team Leader at Belmont Hospital. Day to day support will also be provided by Allied Health clinicians and experienced administrative staff within the service.
A structured on the job orientation will be provided, including training in local workflows, administrative procedures, and relevant electronic systems. Ongoing support will be available as the successful candidate becomes familiar with the role and service requirements.
Access to mandatory training, relevant online learning modules, and local education opportunities will be provided in line with NSW Health requirements. Opportunities exist, and are encouraged, for personal and professional development within the role. There is potential for longer term opportunities within Allied Health administration at Belmont Hospital.
