Western Power WA
Maintenance
Posted: 9 May
Offer description

We’re looking for a hands‑on Fleet Maintenance Team Leader to take ownership of fleet operations at our Northam Depot. In this permanent role, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day maintenance of Western Power and customer fleet units, working closely with in‑house specialist trades and trusted external contractors to keep vehicles and plant safe, reliable, and ready for work.

You’ll schedule and prioritise servicing, repairs, and breakdowns to keep fleet downtime and costs low, and vehicles available when they’re needed. Safety and compliance come first and you’ll make sure all work on fleet units, including Crane Borers and EWPs, is carried out to manufacturer standards and meets Worksafe, Australian Standards, and Western Power Fleet Services requirements.

Your Role in Action

* Provide strong, visible leadership by setting clear expectations, planning work effectively, and actively removing obstacles to performance
* Keep fleet assets safe, compliant, and ready for work through planned maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments
* Maintain fleet availability targets to support operational needs
* Lead with a Zero Harm approach for employees, contractors, and customers
* Manage team resourcing to meet budget and workload targets
* Ensure all maintenance programs meet Worksafe, Australian Standards, and WA Vehicle Regulation requirements
* Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and total cost of ownership
* Ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are met, including audit readiness and follow‑through

What Makes You a Great Fit

* A qualified tradesperson with strong experience in heavy vehicle, diverse, or mining fleet environments
* Proven experience leading teams in a workshop or maintenance setting
* Comfortable setting clear goals and holding teams accountable to agreed outcomes
* Experience working with continuous improvement and quality systems in a fleet environment
* Strong safety mindset, with a track record of working to safe systems of work
* A relevant trade qualification

* 4 weeks of annual leave with the option to purchase an additional 4 more per year
* In addition to standard leave, enjoy three paid wellness leave days each year
* Professional development opportunities to build a long‑term career with support to grow in a large, essential organisation
* 22 weeks paid parental leave and 5 days of First Nations cultural leave to support family and cultural connections
* Access to salary packaging, social club activities, and discounted health insurance and gym membership
