About the Role:
As a Service Technician, you will support our Customer Fulfilment Centre in Truganina, Victoria, Australia. Technicians play an important part in maintaining the operation of our state-of-the-art, automated Customer Fulfilment Centre, providing first response to engineering fault conditions, reactive and planned maintenance activities, as well as proactive improvement works.
This role requires flexibility due to our 24/7 operation, with a shift pattern that includes working days, nights, and weekends.
The day-to-day responsibilities of a Service Technician may involve:
* Carrying out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely, and safe manner, ensuring maintenance procedures are followed.
* Updating records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores and training given.
* Collaborating with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal departments to find ways to improve processes and increase machine reliability and performance.
* Responding to and diagnosing equipment breakdowns, resolving issues, and performing repairs.
* Analysing data to find solutions to improve MHE performance, providing reports where necessary.
* Completing quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard.
* Working to and following Health and Safety policies, including those set by Ocado, Coles, and Australian regulatory standards, seeking guidance from the HS&E team when needed.
About You:
* You should have some technical ability and understanding relating to automation hardware and software, although training can be provided.
* A formal engineering or trade-related qualification is advantageous.
* You should have demonstrable analytical skills and sound problem-solving ability.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively impart knowledge to others.
* Good organisational skills, able to prioritise.
* This role involves working at heights using various access equipment, so Service Technicians need to be comfortable working at heights.
