Tomich Wines is a premium Adelaide Hills wine producer recognised for quality, sustainability, and innovation. We are seeking an experienced Food Technologist to support wine production, quality assurance, and food safety systems across our expanding operations.
This is a full-time, ongoing role based in Woodside, South Australia, working closely with winemaking, production, and quality teams.
The Role
As Food Technologist, you will apply food science and quality management principles to ensure our products meet regulatory requirements, internal standards, and customer expectations. You will play a key role in maintaining food safety systems, improving production processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor and improve wine production processes to ensure product quality and consistency
2. Apply food science and food technology principles across production and quality functions
3. Conduct and review quality checks, testing, and analysis of raw materials and finished products
4. Maintain and improve HACCP, GMP, and quality assurance systems
5. Ensure compliance with Australian food safety standards and wine industry regulations
6. Investigate quality issues, complaints, and non-conformances and implement corrective actions
7. Prepare and maintain product specifications, technical documentation, and records
8. Support audits and inspections (internal, customer, and regulatory)
9. Collaborate with production and winemaking teams on process improvements and product development
About You
You will be a technically skilled food professional with experience in food or beverage manufacturing and a strong understanding of food safety and quality systems.
Skills & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Oenology, or a related discipline
2. Minimum 2 years' relevant industry experience in food or beverage manufacturing
3. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety compliance frameworks
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
6. Excellent communication and documentation skills
Desirable
1. Experience in wine or beverage manufacturing
2. Familiarity with ISO or other quality management systems
