To ensure the success of this strategic initiative, we're offering a number of brand-new, maximum 2-year term contract roles to help maintain and strengthen our core business-as-usual (BAU) operations during this pivotal time.

Reporting to the Credit & Collections Supervisor, the Credit Controller will work in a highly collaborative manner with cross functional teams, the role will be responsible for ensuring the timely collection of overdue accounts and active case management of debtor portfolios, with a strong focus on achieving Best Practice results. Working within a high performance team, the individual must be able to work in an environment where they take ownership and accountability for their portfolio to ensure monthly aged debt targets are achieved.

We are looking for an analytically minded person that understands the holistic approach, to maximise business and team outcomes through actively contributing to process improvement in alignment with strategic direction.

Please note, this is a maximum 2-year contract position. Flexibility is important to us, and we know it is to you, too - this role supports hybrid working at the appropriate time.

Your part in our UnitingCare team:

* Analysis of accounts within assigned Debtor portfolio to ensure outstanding debts are prioritised effectively to reduce arrears, maximise cash collection and reduce bad debt in line with strategic outcomes.
* Understand and identify key risk indicators and flag immediately to ensure early collection intervention to mitigate non-payment.
* Provide business recommendations to close risk/revenue gaps identified and drive continuous improvement.
* Provide exceptional customer service through active listening, the application of empathy and clear communication in a high-volume environment
* Case manage specialised Debtor portfolios (e.g. deceased estates, bankruptcies, legal action, etc.) and manage complex queries as required in line with Company Policies and relevant Legislation.
* Prepare case files for legal review and action based upon recommendations with appropriate Business approval.
* Assess Customer credit related issues including Financial Assistance applications and flag Customers experiencing Hardship to ensure appropriate actions are put in place with the relevant stakeholders to mitigate doubtful debts.
* Complete complex reconciliations to ensure accurate Customer records and financial reporting.
* Ensure all Collection activity is made in line with ACCC (Australian Competition & Consumer Commission) guidelines, policy and procedures, and noted and recorded accurately and concisely with appropriately diarised follow up actions.
* Ensure appropriate identity verification and understanding of EPOA (Enduring Power of Attorney) status.

What makes a difference for us?

* Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Credit Control role within a large multidimensional organisation with high volume billing and large customer base
* Demonstrated experience in credit risk identification and assessment
* Demonstrated experience in achieving monthly KPI's
* Demonstrated experience making a large volume of calls in a polite and courteous manner to achieve positive outcomes
* Demonstrated experience in negotiation, dealing with complex queries and handling difficult conversations
* Demonstrated experience in understanding the legal process and preparing files for escalation
* High attention to detail and accuracy; pro-active approach to task
* Desirable: Knowledge of Dynamics 365, AX09, PeoplePoint, SAP, Intermediate PowerBI capabilities, Experience in large complex organisations, Working knowledge of AASB 16 (Leases)
* Essential: Advanced Excel
