Job Overview
The Airport Environment Branch is seeking experienced environmental professionals to join their Per- and Poly-fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Airports Investigation Program. This role involves establishing regulatory compliance functions, promoting accurate interpretation of legislation, supervising stocktakes, and providing advice on strategic and technical airport environmental regulation issues.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and document the scope and processes of a new regulatory compliance function, consulting with stakeholders and working collaboratively within the team and across the division.
* Promote and apply consistent and accurate interpretation and application of environmental legislation, including the Airports Act 1996 and associated regulations.
* Supervise the stocktake of existing regulatory compliance actions and develop a forward plan for further actions, including timing and resourcing.
* Monitor compliance and evaluate regulatory actions, focusing on continual improvement of the regulatory compliance function.
* Provide advice and support to the team on strategic and technical airport environmental regulation issues.
* Interpret and apply legislation to support complex decisions, enforcing regulatory compliance while engaging appropriately with risk.
Requirements
* Qualifications in Environmental Science or related field, or Law; relevant work experience.
