About the role:
The role of the Corporate Development Analyst is to co-ordinate and complete the preparation of Capital Expenditure Proposals for new stores, upgrades, merchandising initiatives, and other major projects for Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to the Corporate Development Head of Network Projects, the Corporate Development Analyst is a key stakeholder to ensure optimal commercial outcomes are achieved for capital expenditure projects greater than $5 million in relation to store network changes.
Responsibilities
Prepare feasibility assessments of major capital projects over $5 million.
Prepare capital evaluation proposals for submission to senior executives, the Bunnings Board and Wesfarmers Board.
Provide value-add analysis of capital evaluation proposals to ensure effective and efficient decision-making by senior executives.
Report on capital projects approved to senior executives and the Bunnings Board.
Review and assess outcomes of major capital projects following implementation.
Monitor and report on local and international retail peers.
Support research and development of new business opportunities.
Report on key economic insights, identifying key drivers.
Develop or enhance systems, processes and procedures that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of decision-making within the business.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
CA / CPA qualified (and/or equivalent) or currently studying towards this.
3–6 years financial experience.
Retail & Customer Service industry experience highly regarded.
Retail experience in a commercially oriented role beneficial.
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Proven exposure in an environment where commercial judgement skills are utilised.
Strong communication & stakeholder management skills; inspire proactive action across all business functions to drive commercial outcomes.
