**Role Overview:**
This is a challenging yet rewarding role at a secondary school that offers flexible and individualised learning plans for students who have disengaged from or been excluded by schools.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Support the most disengaged students and their families, working closely with support staff.
* Liaise with external agencies, parents, carers and professionals to develop effective strategies for re-engaging students in education.
* Identify barriers to learning and develop attendance plans tailored to each student's needs.
* Implement relevant departmental processes for engaging with young people.
**Essential Skills and Qualifications:**
* A degree in Youth Work or Social Work, or extensive experience in the position.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and set clear boundaries with diverse groups of students.
* Skill and experience in de-escalating critical incidents and supporting students during and after incidents.
* Ability to assess student wellbeing needs and develop safety, behaviour and case plans.
* Collaborative skills to work effectively with teachers and other professionals to improve student outcomes.
* Capacity to work with families and communities to support young people.
