As Tax Manager, you’ll lead the tax compliance function for a prominent Australian group, overseeing both direct and indirect tax obligations, managing tax forecasting, and collaborating with key internal stakeholders. You’ll set the tax agenda, uplift governance, and be the trusted adviser to Finance leadership on high-impact decisions. You’ll have the opportunity to shape tax governance processes and lead a team of junior accountants while driving strategic tax decisions across the business. In this role you will: Oversee and manage the Australian group's direct and indirect tax compliance obligations, including income tax, GST, and FBT, owning the calendar end-to-end and embedding continuous improvement across a multi-entity environment. Lead the quarterly tax forecasting process, producing insight-rich, accurate projections that inform executive decision-making and cash-flow planning. Prepare tax effect accounting and manage the delivery of tax disclosures in financial statements, liaising with external auditors and delivering to tight reporting timelines. Handle reviews and enquiries from the ATO and other tax regulators, providing expert guidance, mitigating risk, and securing clean, timely outcomes. Develop and lead a team of junior accountants while maintaining strong tax governance processes and controls, uplifting capability and modernising frameworks. Who are you? A CA/CPA qualified professional with significant experience in tax compliance and reporting, ideally gained within a commercial in-house tax team; Big 4 grounding welcomed but not essential. A proactive and hands-on individual, comfortable switching between detail and strategy, and adept at managing multiple priorities with ease. A strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to translate complex tax matters into clear, actionable advice. A leader with experience in mentoring and developing junior team members, setting standards, and building high-performing teams. Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with a strong understanding of tax governance processes and the ability to design and implement effective, practical controls. Who are we?
