Job Description
The Adelaide Lightning is a prestigious franchise in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) with a rich history of success, a loyal supporter base, and a commitment to empowering women in sport. As part of the NBL Group network, we are entering an exciting new era on and off the court, with opportunities to collaborate with elite athletes, major brands, and passionate community stakeholders.
This role will see you develop, deliver, and optimise commercial and marketing initiatives that drive revenue growth, brand visibility, and partner value for the Lightning. You will work closely with key stakeholders to create tailored partnership proposals, presentations, and pitches, while ensuring our partners receive best-in-class activation and that the Lightning brand is commercially viable year-round.
Your key responsibilities will include managing end-to-end delivery of all sponsorship agreements, developing creative activations that deliver measurable ROI for partners and enhance fan engagement, building strong relationships with existing partners to drive retention and upsell opportunities, and preparing and presenting partnership performance reports.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you will support the CEO in identifying and securing new sponsorship and partnership opportunities, assist with creation of tailored partnership proposals, monitor industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the Lightning remains a market leader, and activate and manage all commercial partnerships to ensure strong delivery and ROI.
Key Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of 3–5 years' experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship, marketing or communication, preferably in the sports or events industry. You will also need to possess a proven track record of managing partner relationships and delivering successful activations, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.
Furthermore, you will be highly organised, able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and have a creative mindset with the ability to translate ideas into execution. You will also be passionate about women's sport and community engagement, results-driven, proactive, and solutions-focused, and thrive in a dynamic team environment.
