Jacobs is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Principal Design Manager - Rail in Brisbane. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and shape our rail and transit engineering services across the Australia and New Zealand region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality consultancy and engineering services in the rail and transit sector. They will play a crucial role in project technical delivery, supporting design and project management, and contributing to the growth of our rail and transit portfolio.
In this position, you will provide expert consultancy and engineering services in the rail market, lead and deliver technically excellent designs, and drive business development by identifying new opportunities. You'll develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor, and represent the Rail & Transit team at key thought leadership events. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to create and deliver innovative solutions will be essential, as will ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. Supporting design management functions and maintaining compliance with QA procedures are also key aspects of the role.
As a leader, you'll mentor junior team members and facilitate technical development, while promoting a strong safety culture within the organization and with clients. You'll also foster cross-geography relationships to maximize global delivery benefits.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in transport infrastructure engineering and design management, with strong technical expertise in rail infrastructure projects. A proven track record in business development and client relationship management is essential, as are excellent leadership and mentoring skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, a commitment to safety and quality assurance, and the ability to thrive in a global, collaborative environment are also crucial for success in this role.
