The Role
Fitzroy Valley District High School prioritises low‐variance, evidence‐based instruction in literacy and numeracy. All teachers access professional learning and instructional coaching to support the implementation of school initiatives articulated in the instructional framework. Teachers appointed value personal excellence, respect diversity, and promote an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment. Successful teaching will be underpinned by evidence‐based instruction and trauma‐informed practices, aligned with whole‐school pedagogy, programmes, policy and processes. The applicant should be committed to collaborative teamwork and prioritise communication with families as partners in learning.

Eligibility
* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
* Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start
* Consent to nationally coordinated criminal history check and obtain a current screening clearance number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start

Location & Community
The town of Fitzroy Crossing is located on the northerly bank of the Fitzroy River, approximately 2,700 km from Perth and 400 km east of Broome. It has a population of about 1,500 people and is home to the Bunuba, Gooniyandi, Walmajarri, Nyikina and Wangkatjungka peoples. The community is vibrant, innovative and culturally strong, with a long history of Indigenous achievement and locally designed programs.
