The Coordinator Legal, Governance and Integrity coordinates the Legal, Governance and Integrity team and supports the Manager Governance and Risk to ensure best practice governance and legal support for Council and the organisation. The role has a wide sphere of influence and is responsible for providing accurate and timely service and advice, to ensure Council is supported in its goal of accountable, community-focused and transparent governance.
To be considered you will have:
* Tertiary degree in law, and experience in a relevant field.
* A thorough working knowledge of the Local Government Act and experience in the interpretation and provision of advice in relation to legislation relevant to this position.
* Experience in the identification, procurement and application of technology to achieve a better outcome.
* Experience in legal practice management and the provision or procurement of legal services.
* Experience working within a legislative context or government environment, including providing advice and applying policy.
* Experience leading, managing, motivating and developing a team.
* Demonstrated ability to professionally represent Council to government, industry and community stakeholders.
* Experience operating successfully in a politically sensitive environment.
* Experience in the development and delivery of education and training for governance and legal content and risk.
