The Role
The
Business Development Manager
(internally known as outside sales representative) in our Mobile Storage business unit is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with customers, and driving hire growth in a solutions-selling environment.
What will you be doing?
* Promote the full range of United Rentals products and services across the various divisions
* Develop and implement strategic growth plans for both existing and new (conquest) accounts
* Expand the customer base and uncover new opportunities, particularly within the civil construction market
* Manage and strengthen relationships with existing customers
* Increase market share and overall customer spend ("share of wallet")
* Maintain deep product knowledge to serve as a trusted subject matter expert

* Willingness to travel and engage with customers on-site
* Proven track record in sales and customer service
* Experience in equipment hire or construction-related industries (advantageous)
Qualifications and required experience
* Demonstrated success in business development or outside sales
* Experience selling complex or customised solutions
* Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot)
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tailor solutions to customer needs
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
