Finance Officer (Australia Subsidiary)

Position Overview
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the Australia subsidiary. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, compliance with local tax regulations, and effective cash flow planning. The position supports the subsidiary’s operations by maintaining proper financial governance and providing reliable financial information to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely closing of financial periods.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and submit statutory tax filings, including GST, corporate tax, payroll-related taxes, and other regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and corporate reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external tax agents, auditors, and regulatory bodies when necessary.
Cash Flow & Financial Planning
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial planning reports to ensure adequate funding for operations.
- Monitor bank balances, fund requirements, and collection status.
- Support headquarters in financial analysis and budgeting matters.
- Note: This role does not involve executing payment transactions but will assist in planning and monitoring fund requirements.
Others
- Maintain proper financial documentation and filing systems.
- Assist in improving internal controls and financial processes.
- Support management with ad‑hoc financial analysis or reporting needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a small or mid‑sized company.
- Familiar with Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, high integrity, and ability to work independently.
- Positive communication skills and ability to coordinate with external parties (tax agents, auditors, government agencies).
The role reports directly to Regional Finance team.
