About The Role
Bring your creativity, community spirit and leadership to a region that values connection, learning and a relaxed coastal lifestyle. As our Programs & Engagement Senior Librarian, you'll shape library experiences that reflect the unique character of the Fraser Coast — from vibrant outreach in our townships to programs that celebrate local stories, culture and curiosity.
You'll lead a small, passionate team to design and deliver inclusive programs, build strong community partnerships, support volunteers, and grow participation across our multi‐branch library network. Your work will help our community discover, learn and feel at home in their libraries.
What Your Day Will Look Like
* Leading engaging programs and outreach tailored to local needs
* Building partnerships and supporting Friends of the Library volunteers
* Creating program calendars, displays and online content
* Training staff and volunteers in safe, high‐quality delivery
* Managing budgets, grants and reporting for Programs & Engagement
* Contributing to strategic planning and community‐focused projects

What You'll Need For Success
* Demonstrated ability to manage community programs and a strong understanding of public library practices in a regional context, including effective media and promotion.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including high‐quality reporting, correspondence and procedural documentation.
* Ability to plan, organise and analyse program and project viability and effectiveness.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, support change, solve problems and negotiate in a team environment.
* Ability to provide guidance, training and support to staff and volunteers in program delivery and engagement activities.
What's Nice To Have
* Experience in a public library multi‐branch environment.
* Experience in community liaison, managing volunteers, and public relations.
* Experience with GLAM programs and initiatives.
* Prior involvement in grant management and reporting.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
