The Organisation
Our client is a high-growth, ASX-listed life sciences company, committed to developing and commercialising medical diagnostics technology to help reduce the morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs associated with serious health conditions for the community.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Financial Controller is a pivotal senior leadership appointment. As the most senior finance professional in the business, you will act as both the technical accounting authority and a commercially-driven business partner. You will be responsible for the integrity of global financial operations, supporting capital market activities, and providing the strategic insight necessary to drive the company through its next phase of international growth.
Key Responsibilities
* ASX & Statutory Compliance: Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements (AASB/IFRS) and manage all ASX reporting obligations.
* Treasury & Capital Management: Manage the group's cash position and multi-currency treasury (AUD, USD, GBP), while supporting equity capital-raising processes and investor relations.
* R&D Tax Incentives: Coordinate the outsourced annual RDTI registration and claim process to maximise eligible expenditure for the group's research programs.
* Commercial Finance: Partner with operational leads to develop forecasts, cost-of-goods models, pricing strategies, and gross margin analysis for global diagnostic products.
* Governance: Act as a key liaison for the Board and Audit & Risk Committees, managing the corporate Risk Register and supporting the Company Secretary function.
The Person
To be successful, you will be a CA/CPA qualified professional with 7+ years of progressive experience. Crucially, you must bring at least 3 years of experience within an ASX-listed environment, possessing a deep understanding of continuous disclosure and public company reporting cycles.
Experience in life sciences, medtech, or R&D-intensive sectors will be highly regarded. You are a self-directed leader comfortable acting as the sole senior finance authority in a lean environment, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for the CEO and Board.
The Offer
A salary package circa $175K plus super plus STI/LTI for the successful candidate, commensurate with skills and experience. This is a full-time, permanent position.
