About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical claims management advice and collaborative consultation, including expertise in Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) calculations, to ensure prompt and compliant claims finalisation in line with regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities
Work with other Technical Specialists and managers to ensure the effective management of claims and advocate the use of alternate strategies to progress the claim towards timely finalisation.
Provide appropriate technical input, advice and support to claims staff across NI and TMF to ensure the accurate interpretation of relevant legislation and the accurate calculation and re-calculation of PIAWE.
Work closely with Managers and Claims Managers to manage all claims in accordance with legislative requirements and common law practice.
Make decisions and provide advice in line with NSW workers compensation legislation and Allianz policies and delegations, referring to appropriate references and seeking assistance where necessary.
Complete and/or coordinate any PIAWE and/or Indexation remediation tasks/projects in accordance with set processes and within required timeframes.
Assist with the development and distribution of any PIAWE related reporting that can assist with performance uplift and improvements.
Provide advice and support in the management of any contractual requirements related to PIAWE and/or Indexation.
Qualifications
At least 5 years' experience managing technical and/or PIAWE related matters within NSW Workers Compensation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with the ability to balance understanding, empathy, and compassion with the best commercial outcome for Allianz.
Ability to work collaboratively with peers and a variety of stakeholders.
Experience as an SME, including coaching and mentoring others.
Strong planning and prioritisation skills, organisational ability, and effective management of competing resources and demands.
Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision making.
Passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
