Offer description

Embarking on a career with Social Futures means becoming part of a mission that goes beyond just a job. We are a voice for social change in regional Australia, with a proud history spanning over 50 years.

We are seeking passionate and committed Program Workers to join our Women’s Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Homelessness Services within the Connecting Home, Housing and Homelessness branch.

This role provides an opportunity to work alongside women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and homelessness, supporting them to achieve safety, stability, and long-term housing outcomes.

Our services deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred support across refuge, outreach and transitional housing settings. Program Workers play a critical role in supporting women to rebuild their lives through practical support, advocacy, and connection to community. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and homelessness — supporting safety, healing and long-term stability.

As a Program Worker, you will provide case management and crisis support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and homelessness.

This includes working in office-based and/or community outreach settings to support women through their housing and safety pathways.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Deliver high-quality trauma-informed case management to women and children
* Conduct risk assessments and safety planning
* Support women to secure and maintain safe housing
* Provide advocacy and referrals to housing, legal, health and community services
* Work collaboratively with specialist domestic and family violence services and community partners
* Support women to strengthen independence, wellbeing and recovery
* Maintain accurate documentation and case notes
* Participate in reflective practice and supervision

This position also participates in the Domestic Violence Response Enhancement (DVRE) after-hours on-call roster as a requirement of the role.

The position is currently funded until 31 December 2027.

Desired Skills and Experience:

We are looking for compassionate and resilient practitioners who can balance empathy, advocacy and professional boundaries in a complex service environment.

You will bring:

* Qualifications (or equivalent experience) in social work, community services, psychology, welfare or a related field
* Experience working in domestic and family violence, housing or homelessness services
* Strong case management and crisis response skills
* Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred practice
* Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with women and families
* Excellent communication, documentation and organisational skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Commitment to client safety, empowerment and ethical practice

This is a female-identified position. Being female is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) due to the nature of the work supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence within a women’s refuge and specialist support service.
