Position Summary
The Trainer and Assessor will be responsible for delivering and assessing training for the CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services in compliance with the national training package, ASQA standards, and CRICOS requirements. This role involves providing academic support, ensuring integrity of assessment, and contributing to continuous improvement within the organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Training & Assessment
* Review and prepare learning materials prior to delivery.
* Deliver engaging training sessions using provided learning resources.
* Answer student queries and provide academic support.
* Mark student assessments within 1 week of submission, in line with the marking guide.
* Check for plagiarism, collusion, or cheating in assessments and report accordingly.
* Provide constructive feedback to students to support competency achievement.
* Contribute to validation and moderation of assessments to maintain compliance.
2. Student Support
* Provide one-on-one academic support where required.
* Supply additional reference materials to support student learning.
* Promote a positive, inclusive, and culturally sensitive learning environment.
3. Administration
* Complete all training and assessment documentation accurately and on time.
* Maintain up-to-date student records as per RTO policies.
* Complete HR and compliance-related documentation.
4. Compliance
* Participate in audits and regulatory checks as required.
* Maintain and provide evidence of industry currency and professional development in line with RTO standards.
* Report and document all health and safety issues and incidents.
* Actively contribute to assessment validation and quality improvement activities.
5. Working Relationships
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and management to achieve organizational goals.
* Lead and participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
* Network with industry representatives, employers, and community stakeholders.
* Abide by VIE's code of conduct, organizational policies, and procedures.
Essential Requirements
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
* Vocational qualifications in Community Services (Diploma or higher).
* Demonstrated industry experience in community services, case management, or welfare.
* Strong understanding of VET sector compliance, competency-based training, and CRICOS obligations.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Desirable Requirements
* Previous experience delivering to CRICOS students.
* Experience with Student Management Systems (aXcelerate).
* Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
* First Aid Certificate.
