About the Role Reporting to the Head of Technology, you'll play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge robotics and automation solutions.
Working at the intersection of software engineering, mechatronics, and field deployment, you will develop robust systems in Python and C++, integrate sensors and actuators, and deliver practical solutions that thrive in rugged, real-world conditions.
Occasional travel to client sites and remote mining locations will be required for installation, testing, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain software in Python and C++ for control systems, data processing, and robotics integration.
* Engineer automation systems with actuators, sensors, embedded devices, and custom electromechanical assemblies.
* Analyse system and field data to improve performance, safety, and efficiency.
* Support on-site deployments, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
* Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and clients to deliver real-world automation solutions.
About You To excel in this role, you will have:
* Strong proficiency in Python and C++ software development.
* Hands-on mechatronics experience—integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
* Knowledge of automation technologies, robotics, or control systems.
* Familiarity with data analytics and sensor data processing.
* The ability to work effectively in both workshop and remote field environments.
Desirable skills include experience with ROS, PLCs, microcontrollers (Arduino/STM32), DC electrical systems, or industrial/machine automation.
Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma inMechatronics, Robotics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
