The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to join the expanding industrial design team. This full-time role, based in a stunning Wollongong studio, offers a chance to work on diverse projects within a supportive and creative team. Qualifications And Experience
1. Diploma in Building Design or equivalent.
2. Revit specialist with a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience (in Australia).
3. Strong portfolio of industrial/commercial projects.
4. Experience Supervising Others.
5. Valid Australian Drivers Licence and access to personal transport.
Required Skills
1. Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian construction methods, including timber and light steel framing, masonry construction, and concrete and structural steel framing systems.
2. Design Sensitivity: Ability to assess complex site issues and translate client briefs into well-considered design solutions.
3. Drafting and Detailing Expertise: Proficiency in creating detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings with accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Regulations & Standards: Thorough knowledge of Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia.
5. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Project Management: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
7. Problem-Solving: Analytical skills and a proactive approach to resolving construction and documentation challenges.
8. Collaboration: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and mentor less experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Construction Documentation: Prepare detailed architectural plans with precision and creativity.
2. Consultant Coordination: Integrate consultant drawings accurately into architectural documentation.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all documentation aligns with the National Construction Code (NCC / BCA) and Australian Standards.
4. Project Oversight: Manage projects efficiently, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality outcomes.
