Davidson is partnering with a well-established organisation to secure an
Asset and Systems Accountant
to support Finance through a major asset register retirement and migration to a new corporate asset management system.
About the Role
This role sits within the Finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager. The role provides specialist accounting, systems, and data expertise to ensure a smooth transition from the legacy asset register to the new system, while uplifting processes and controls across the financial asset lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
* Data migration & transition support: cleansing and validating asset data, reviewing mapping logic (opening balances, accumulated depreciation, useful lives, categories), and reconciling old vs new system outputs across mock loads/UAT/cutover.
* Financial asset management: journals for additions/disposals/transfers, WIP capitalisation, depreciation schedules, useful life reviews, and supporting revaluations/impairment/disclosures for reporting and audit.
* Process improvement & documentation: building updated procedures, checklists, internal controls, and clarifying end-to-end roles between Finance and operational asset management.
* System support & uplift: helping Finance staff learn the new environment (data entry, reporting, reconciliations) and troubleshooting asset-data issues.
* Stakeholder engagement: representing Finance in workshops, liaising with auditors/valuers/project teams, and managing audit queries tied to migration and controls.
About You
The successful candidate will likely bring:
* A degree in Accounting (or related), with CA/CPA (or working towards) desirable.
* Proven experience in fixed asset accounting / financial reporting / systems-based accounting, ideally with asset register, ERP, or system transition project exposure.
* Strong knowledge of AASB standards relevant to PPE, depreciation, impairment, and valuation, plus excellent Excel and reconciliation capability.
* A detail-first mindset, confident communication (including to non-technical stakeholders), and a proactive, solution-focused approach in a changing environment
