Overview
Local Peoples is taking expressions of interest for talented and experienced UX/CX/Service Designers who are passionate about making a positive impact on public sector services through design. You will be excited to join us and support our public sector clients working as an embedded team member in both contract and ongoing roles. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting, strategically focussed projects that aim to have positive advantages for the community and public sector services.
Note: This is an Expression of Interest, and we currently don’t have an active or immediate role available. However, we’re expecting more projects to kick off soon, so we’re looking to connect with talented professionals in advance. Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive human-centered design experience.
- Experience with design thinking, systems thinking, and agile methodologies.
- Experience creating service blueprints, system maps, customer journeys, and supporting the execution of product or service delivery.
- Ability to work with UX Researchers and carry out design research using quantitative and qualitative techniques to understand and provide recommendations on consumer expectations and needs.
- Use techniques to illustrate findings persuasively and focus on how the message is delivered.
- Anticipating risks, responding to them promptly, and helping others recognize them.
- During workshop facilitation, encouraging stakeholders to work together and supporting cross-agency and cross-sectoral approaches to solve issues and problems.
- Experience with digital transformation and/or omnichannel strategies.
- Expertise in conducting customer research, problem solving, journey mapping, ideation, prototyping, and testing solutions.
- Extensive experience in developing and executing end-to-end customer experience strategies.
- Understanding of accessibility requirements for design, including WCAG guidelines and public sector design guidelines.
- Ability to develop and deliver industry-grade design artefacts, and contribute to report writing for applied research and publication purposes.
- Comfortable collaborating and interacting with clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively with excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of current trends in digital and interaction design.
- Experience using Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, Creative Cloud (CC), and other design tools.
Residency and Clearance
- Hold a current ASGVA Baseline clearance or be able to obtain one.
- You must be an Australian Citizen.
This role is open to Canberra/Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane based applicants.
